Question 1

What exactly is Voltbu?

Accepted Answer

Voltbu is an independent mobility assistant that lets you find electric vehicle charging stations across Türkiye in one place, compare prices, and plan routes with charging stops on long trips. Right now we list 24.000+ charging points, 57.000+ connectors, and 170+ operators across all 81 provinces. We're not affiliated with any operator; we list them all by the same criteria.

Question 2

Is the app free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All features — including the map, route planning, tariff comparison, and vehicle management — are free. Voltbu doesn't sell charging or take a commission; you pay directly in the operator's own app.

Question 3

What can I use without an account?

Accepted Answer

Without signing in, you can use the operator guide, tariff comparison, blog, and help pages. A free account is required for the map, route planning, and garage — because routes are calculated based on your vehicle, its range, and your current charge level. Without a vehicle of your own, we can't produce a realistic route.

Question 4

Where does your data come from?

Accepted Answer

From two independent sources: EPDK's licensed charging network records and the operators' own data feeds. About a quarter of the records exist in both sources and are cross-verified. You can see which source a station came from on its detail page.

Question 5

What can I do if a piece of information is wrong?

Accepted Answer

You can report things like "there's no station here" or "the connector count is different" from the report section on the station detail page. Reports are reviewed before being applied to the record; if multiple drivers report the same station, we show a warning banner to other drivers on that station's card.

Question 6

Is Voltbu an operator?

Accepted Answer

No. Voltbu doesn't operate charging stations, doesn't sell electricity, and isn't affiliated with any operator. It's an independent guide and route planner; it earns revenue from promotional placements on the operator side, and those placements are clearly marked on the page.

Question 7

What charging types and connectors are there?

Accepted Answer

The network has 33.000+ AC connectors (Type 2) and 23.000+ DC fast-charging connectors; almost all of the DC side is CCS. CHAdeMO is now rare in Türkiye — fewer than a hundred across the whole network. The most common power band is 11-22 kW, and the highest power on the network is 720 kW.

Question 8

How up to date is availability data, and which stations have it?

Accepted Answer

Real-time availability refreshes every 60 seconds at stations whose operator provides a data feed. That currently covers 39 operators and about %43 of the network (more than 10.500 stations). At the remaining stations, connector status shows as "unknown" in grey — that doesn't mean something's broken, it means we can't get live data from that operator yet. We keep expanding this coverage.

Question 9

A station is broken or isn't there — what should I do?

Accepted Answer

Open the report section on the station detail page and choose the status — options like "the station wasn't there" or "the connector count is different" are available. You can also add a short note if you like; notes are reviewed before being published. Once your report is received, other drivers looking at that station will see the warning banner.

Question 10

What does the "drivers couldn't find this station at the listed location" warning mean?

Accepted Answer

It means several drivers have reported not finding a station at that address. The record stays listed because it may have moved or the entrance may be in a different spot. The warning banner shows how many drivers reported it and when it was last reported. We recommend confirming with the operator's own app before you set off.

Question 11

What can I filter the map by?

Accepted Answer

You can filter by operator, connector type, and minimum power. The power filter works in 22, 50, 150, and 250 kW tiers — for example, selecting 150 kW leaves only stations with a connector at that power or higher.

Question 12

How many stations are in my city?

Accepted Answer

There are stations in all 81 provinces. The busiest provinces are İstanbul, Ankara, Antalya, İzmir, and Bursa. You can search your city's name on the map to see your own area.

Question 13

What happens if I don't grant location permission?

Accepted Answer

The app keeps working; the map opens centered on İstanbul and the "stations near me" list is calculated from that center. You can search for any city manually. Location permission is only used to center the map on where you are and to pre-fill the route starting point.

Question 14

How does the route engine work?

Accepted Answer

It calculates where and how much you need to charge by factoring in your vehicle's range, the charge level you start with, the elevation change along the route, and the outside temperature. You decide how much battery you want left on arrival and the lowest level you're willing to drop to at a stop. The result is the plan that minimizes total trip time, including charging stops.

Question 15

Why wasn't my route planned?

Accepted Answer

It's one of three reasons, and we show which one on screen: (1) your starting charge isn't enough for this route — increase it and try again; (2) no station on the route matches your filters — loosen your operator or connector filters; (3) the distance between two charging points exceeds your vehicle's range — you'll need to try a different route. Also, if there's no vehicle in your garage, no route is calculated at all.

Question 16

Are there multiple route options?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Fastest, Most Economical, and Fewest Stops alternatives are calculated. Switching between them updates the route on the map, the stop list, and the estimated time together.

Question 17

Can I customize the route to my preferences?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can toggle avoiding highways, tolls, ferries, and tunnels independently. You can calculate range using your real-world range or a value you enter instead of the WLTP figure, set your average speed, and ask it to use only your favorite operators or only stations known to be working.

Question 18

Can I change a stop on my route?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each stop has options to change or skip it; skipping a stop recalculates the route.

Question 19

What does "no favorite operator found, the plan was made with all operators" mean?

Accepted Answer

You asked for a plan using only your favorite operators, but no suitable station from them turned up on the route. So the plan was made with all operators instead, so you wouldn't be left without a route, and we let you know. In the same way, if weather or elevation data can't be retrieved, the plan is made without that adjustment, and that's also shown on screen.

Question 20

Can I share my route?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can create a share link for your saved routes; anyone who opens the link can see the route and its stops without creating an account.

Question 21

Can I open my route in Google, Apple, Yandex, or Waze?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but with one difference: Waze's directions link doesn't carry intermediate stops. If you choose Waze, only your destination is transferred and your charging stops won't appear. To also transfer your stops, choose Google, Apple, or Yandex Maps — the app reminds you of this at the moment you choose.

Question 22

How often are tariff prices updated?

Accepted Answer

They're pulled automatically from operators' own official pages every night; 170+ operators' tariffs are currently published. Each tariff shows its last update time and the source of the data.

Question 23

What's the state of prices today?

Accepted Answer

AC charging ranges roughly from 6 to 14 TL per kWh, and DC fast charging from about 8 to 16,5 TL. The average AC price is around 9,7 TL/kWh, and DC is around 12,8 TL/kWh. These figures vary by operator and power band; check the operator's card on the tariffs page for the exact price.

Question 24

Can I compare two tariffs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On the tariffs page, you can use the plus icon next to operators to put up to 4 tariffs side by side. The comparison shows prices by power band, membership benefits, and any campaign notes together.

Question 25

How does the membership or subscription discount work?

Accepted Answer

Of the operators we list, 110+ offer a membership or subscription model. Voltbu shows "membership benefit" information on these operators' tariff cards, but you need to get the membership through the operator's own app — Voltbu doesn't sell memberships.

Question 26

Why isn't some operators' price showing?

Accepted Answer

The number of operators with a published tariff is 170+; we list 170+ operators in total. The rest aren't listed because they either don't publish pricing publicly or only show it in their own app. For these operators, their card has a link to the operator's own page instead of a price.

Question 27

Is my vehicle in the catalog?

Accepted Answer

The catalog has 1.300+ electric vehicles. When you select your brand, the model list opens and values like range, battery, and charging speed are filled in automatically. If you can't find your vehicle, you can enter the range manually.

Question 28

Can I add more than one vehicle?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can add as many vehicles as you like to your garage. If you mark one as "primary", it's used by default in route planning.

Question 29

Can I set the range value myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When planning a route, you can calculate range in three ways: the WLTP figure from the catalog, your real-world range, or a value you enter yourself. The real-world range option gives more accurate results on long trips and in cold weather.

Question 30

How does my current charge level affect the route?

Accepted Answer

The route starts from the current charge level in your garage. Updating this value before you set off directly changes where your first charging stop is; if you plan with an outdated value, the route may suggest a stop too early or too late.

Question 31

Cold weather lowers my range — does the plan account for that?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can turn on weather and elevation correction when planning a route; temperature and altitude differences are factored into the range calculation. If weather data can't be retrieved at that moment, the plan is still made, but the screen notes that it's without that correction.

Question 32

Which notifications will I get?

Accepted Answer

There are seven separate categories: Features, Campaigns, Charging, Route, Operator, Community, and My Station notifications. You can turn each one on or off individually. Campaigns and Community are off by default — you can turn them on in profile settings if you'd like.

Question 33

I'm not getting notifications, why?

Accepted Answer

First, check your device permission: if Voltbu notifications are turned off in your phone's or browser's system settings, you won't get notifications even if the in-app preference is on. The notification preferences screen flags this and takes you straight to your system settings.

Question 34

I don't want notifications at night.

Accepted Answer

Quiet hours are on by default and cover 22:00 to 08:00. You can change this time range in profile settings or turn quiet hours off entirely.

Question 35

Why can't I send a report?

Accepted Answer

Station reports have a daily cap and a short cooldown for the same station; this keeps mistaken or repeated reports from corrupting the data. When you hit the limit, we show on screen how long until you can report again.

Question 36

How can I sign in?

Accepted Answer

You can sign in with email and password, or with your Google or Apple account. If you register with email, you need to verify your address first; the verification link is valid for 24 hours.

Question 37

I forgot my password, what should I do?

Accepted Answer

A reset link is sent to your email via the "Forgot password" link on the login screen. The link is valid for 30 minutes; if it expires, you can request a new one.

Question 38

Who is my data shared with?

Accepted Answer

Your vehicle information, favorites, and route history aren't shared with third parties. Location data is only used for the map and route, and only when you grant permission. We separately ask for your explicit consent for analytics use, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Question 39

Can I withdraw the permissions I gave?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In Profile > Privacy, you can turn your analytics and campaign consents on or off individually. Declining these consents doesn't affect your access to membership services.

Question 40

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

You start your request from Profile > Account Settings > Delete Account. We send a confirmation link to your email address; this link is valid for 24 hours. Once you confirm, your logins are disabled and your personal data is anonymized or deleted within 30 days. Records that must be legally retained (such as financial records) are kept for their own required retention periods.

Question 41

What happens if the terms of use or privacy text changes?

Accepted Answer

When there's a significant change to these texts, you'll be asked to read and approve the current text the next time you open the app. The approval screen can't be confirmed until you've scrolled to the end of the text; this is to make sure you're aware of the change.
